Pineapple Cats

I know my writing has been kinda depressing lately. So I wanted to share a Good Thing.

Pineapple Cat by Jem Yoshioka

Pineapple Cats by Jem Yoshioka

I don’t know what it is about Pineapple Cats that makes me laugh so hard. It’s just gorgeous and ridiculous and their little expressions are so wonderful and endearing. Plus I guess the girl looks a bit like me and I love cats and I also love pineapples and pretty dresses and yellow sandles so all around when I saw this on Jem’s website I had to have it.

Sometimes, in all the darkness in my mind, I forget how lucky I am. I’m lucky to know Jem, who is an inspiration for me because she’s struggled with much of the same challenges I’m facing, and she’s come through it all. She’s also a massively talented artist. (Check out her stuff).

I’m lucky that being sick has given me the opportunity to meet so many amazing people. My friends – old and new, online and IRL – are the only thing getting me through this. I really don’t know how I would have survived without my twitter community, especially. You guys are kind, accepting, supportive, make me laugh, are there for me when I cry (which, I know, that’s a lot of the time right now, I’m sorry).

I still struggle to explain the worth of twitter to people who don’t use it. All I can say is that this year would have been so much worse without it. I would never have had the support from people who share what I’m going through. I never would have felt so understood and connected.

Anyway, I just wanted to share Pineapple Cats with you guys, because I think it’s the best, and because it makes me smile, and I really really need that.
